The revelation yesterday that a West Texas hunting camp used by the family of Rick Perry was named "Niggerhead" drew widespread outrage. The name is terribly offensive, of course, but is it also rare? That was the question on Jon Stewart's mind tonight during a Daily Show segment featuring Wyatt Cenac "on location" near New York's recently renamed "Nigger Lake."

That is what I always called them as well. I am from Texas and my husband who is from California also called them that
It’s ok—it’s in NY. They’re much more enlightened up there.
Reading through this thread made me laugh. I have those flowers in my yard. I had no idea my garden was racist, and that the n word was so commonly used.
OT, but you just reminded me that the upcoming Christmas season requires some pfeffernüsse. Yum!

Think about it. In context.
I used to swim at Nigger Beach in Lee County, Florida. It was on the left just before the causeway leading to Sanibel Island.

But also note that he finished by taking on his favorite target, Gretchen Carlson, and making her out to be a hypocritical airhead again. Not that she doesn’t provide him with the ammunition.
What was your name for them?
Do I detect sarcasm?
For me it's not the many usages of the word but the memories of pulling these plants and playing a game of chase with my brothers as we tried to bonk each other on the head.
