IV. Right of search and seizure regulated
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Gov't expanding laws? Whoda thunk it?
Warrantless searches are OK to stop pirating of intellectual property, but you can’t inquire of someone’s citizenship.
As a retired police officer, this scares the heck out of me.
Some wonder if the laws to keep us safe that have been enacted since 9/11 will expand...
And if they have plants shouldn’t they be able to describe them in a warrant?
“I lost my 4th Amendment Rights and all I got was this crummy DVD.”
A totally unconstitutional sop to Hollywood.
If I’m ever on a jury for this charge and the search was without a warrant, I’m voting not guilty.
Guess since the obama team can ignore the Constitution, the rest of the libs will follow.
Gov. Perdue: Let’s suspend elections. Only temporarily of course.
Gov. Brown: We can search for whatever we want whenever we want. We will get back to you when we reinstate that pesky search and seizure thing.
And if they have plants shouldnt they be able to describe them in a warrant?

“Some wonder if the laws to keep us safe that have been enacted since 9/11 will expand...”
Well, we will be protected from bootlegged Osama Bin Laden recordings, right?
Total warrantless searches have to start somewhere.
Which law covered that?
California...always on the cutting edge of liberalizing or ignoring the Constitution. There’s another case out of CA that I think might be before the SC now about the placement of GPS on a car by law enforcement without a warrant. Nevermind, it’s a DC case: http://edca.typepad.com/eastern_district_of_calif/2011/06/supreme-court-grants-cert-in-jones-gps-case.html
But the 9th Circuit ruled it was ok: http://blogs.findlaw.com/blotter/2010/08/court-oks-warrantless-gps-tracking.html
Another day, another reason to be out of CA ping
More communism laws. Laws for communists. More laws against WE THE PEOPLE. Freedom and rights for non-Americans and no rights for Americans soon.
The communist government will charge YOU for not supporting it, so you are the enemy too.
The liberal communists of Hollywood taking the freedoms away from WE THE PEOPLE with their excuse of making money.
