The last film made Superman into an illegitimate father, what crappy things will they do this time?

As long as I live, I’ll never forget Russell Crowe as Maximus Decimus Meridius....aka Gladiator! Gosh! I remember so going off the deep end over that movie...saw it 10 times in the theater...and that was after it had been out nearly 3 months. Took me quite awhile to get over it all. Whew! “Strength and Honor...STRENGTH-AND-HONOR!”

Jor El was a scientist, right? So why is dressed as an intergalactic football player / monk?

Looks more like he belongs in Asgard than on Krypton...
Zach hasn't done me wrong yet though, so I'll withhold judgement until I see the movie.

"My Son. My Son. I am your father, Jor-El. Your mother and I have sent you to Earth the only survivor of Krypton. As you hear this, I will have been dead many centuries, but I will reborn as Charlie Rich. On the planet Earth you have special powers and knowledge, which will separate you from mankind. Use these powers only for good, and above all you must never tamper with the destiny of man. And don't eat junk food."

Looks kinda grungey. I still like to think of Krypton and its occupants the way the 50s/60s comics did... a sort of scientific ‘world of tomorrow’ in pleasant pastel colors.
Jor El was his Superman’s real pop, right? I get all that confused. There was Mon El and Kal El too, but I forget who was who and what was what. Can’t remember at all Superman’s Kryptonian mother’s name.

He looks just like Marlon Brando as Jor El. A formerly good looking, in shape actor who is starting to go to pot. Look for Russell in size 54 pants in the near future.

Now, what is so awful about classic Silver Age Jor-El and Lara?!
If Superman spends his adult life flying around in colorful skin tight stuff with a big insignia, is it so hard to believe that his dad and other great Kryptonians would do likewise? (Oh, and bury Don Jor-El-leone Brando once and for all. Just because they overpaid for his services in 1977 or whenever, doesn't mean we should have to put up with his rendition forever!)

The ‘S’ and the shield wasn’t even invented until Mom Kent made the first costume out of Kal El’s baby blankets!

Crowe does best in very heroic roles like "Gladiator" and "Master Commander".
As a liberal, though, I believe he shuns such roles. Too bad. I would like to see him in much more stuff with classic Western heroism. He would be THE BEST A-LIST actor if he chose to do so.

With a bag over his head, it would be fine.
