Hey, only 1/3 fought against King George. And for far less than is being done to us now, I might add.

The main problem is that society has become so complex, with so many interlocking dependencies, that there are no black and white areas to show the public. The problems are complex, they require time and education to understand, they cannot be explained with catch phrases adequately, and people lose interest.

“Taxation without representation” was an effective political slogan.

What would be the slogan now, that would accurately reflect the conflict between individual freedom, and the obedience to the hive mentality that so many desire.

Were there a modern day “New World” and another Mayflower, I would sign on a a bilge pumper to get out of this place to find a renewed society that rewards and values personal freedom, personal responsibility, and solid moral grounds upon which to live with others in society.

Even if the good guys win, the march of history says that the vibrancy and life force of this country died its cancerous death long ago. Perquisites once gained, will never be relinquished. An individual vision and goal of personal freedom and individual achievement, once clouded in the bureaucratic bak sheesh that governs our existence, will never become a clear vision again.

We will fight it for a generation or two, and then all vestiges will be gone, and the rewriting of history by the members of the hive will begin, obliterating the once glorious experiment of the United States of America. It will, in three generations, be a story of how greed made America, and greed killed America. In this, they would be half right.
