So I'm coming out of the supermarket about an hour ago and am approached by this snot-nosed, rotten teethed, pony-tailed looking liberal (he looked like a meth tweaker) with a clipboard in his hand. He asks me, "are you a registered voter here in San Jose?" I answer him, "yes!" He then proceeds to tell me, "did you know the San Jose City Council just approved and closed down 10 dispensaries?" (Like I really cared) I then answered him with a "SO WHAT...as far as I'm concerned, they can close every goddamn one of them in San Jose!" He then had this look on his face of disappointment that he knew I wasn't gonna sign his petition! So, he then tells me, "apparently, you don't know anyone with cancer!" I then answered him (I'm walking away at this point) and said, 'apparently you don't know that the majority of people that smoke dope are smoking it to get high...i.e., potheads!"
Had I not been in a hurry, (I had the BBQ goin) I would have stayed and ripped this guy apart (verbally).
When you have nausea from chemo-therapy and you can’t keep anything down how do you get relief from a pill that you have to swallow?
Well so the anti I want to control everyone will tell you there are other drugs for this but having watched someone try to take these drugs and know that most do not work at all that I have no problem with anyone using anything that helps them make it through the days. Some neurological pains can not even be touched by anything that doesn’t make you unconscious so if smoking makes it so someone can stand and function rather than sleep their lives away I see no harm.
My father was a physician who died from the complications of lung cancer. He underwent radiation therapy and I watched as he gagged on his favorite dinner, a very nice Porter House steak, due to the treatments. Chemo-therapy causes far worse nausea than radiation. He watched his life-long friend and cousin go through chemo before he died from his own cancer and my father swore he would never undergo that and he didn't.
As a physician for over 30 years I think he would have known of and used an anti-nausea Rx if there had been one.
I’m sorry to hear that.I am sure you are right no one would willingly go through that if there was a way to avoid it.I watched my own father die in 1999 from esophageal cancer and it was not a good way to go.My father did not have chemo they did not think he was strong enough to go through it by the time they found it.From diagnosis and dead was a short 6 weeks which what he went through I see now as a blessing but even that was pure h*ll.
