The first time I heard “The Raven” was when I was in the 6th grade. My teacher, Mr. Mitchel, read it to the class, actually they combined both 6th grade classes for the reading.

I remember how he read it with such feeling and dramatics. That was a long time ago, but it will always be stuck in my memory banks.

“Quote The Raven, nevermore”.

Going to get an early post for Sunday morning here at Amy’s Place.

I received this in an e-mail on Friday and decided that this would be the perfect place to post it.

As I’ve mentioned before, the first solo I sang in church was “How Great Thou Art” way back when I was a sophmore in high school and this song has always had a very special place in my heart.

I think you’ll really enjoy this one...

How Great Thou Art - Barbershop Multi-track

Here is one that is unbelievable. This barbershop singer made this tape where he sings all four parts. There is not ever a miss cue. What a voice he has, such talent, & unbelievably perfectly on tune. Now that is a voice range to be able to sing bass, baritone, lead, & tenor—not even to say he did it all together with various tapings of himself. That is creativity at its best! I know you’ll enjoy this!

Wow, DD - you remember your 6 Grade teacher’s name - and something he read to you? That is impressive - and he must have been a VERY good teacher!
