Cliff Lee to Ian Kinsler: "See you in the World Series..."
Only if you're watching Ian on the tube, Cliff...
Couldn’t agree more!
And on top of it all, the Red Wings and Stars won their season openers tonight.
...the Phillies were stupid to let them in by sweeping Atlanta the final 3.
First batter hits a triple, eventually scores and that is it.
If your a true baseball fan, this was fantastic.
The flight from Philidelphia to Milwaukee will be a hoot for the Cards.
I now have a problem because I love both teams in the matchup.
Gut feeling, Milwaukee because Braun. Oh wait a minute, there is this guy called Pulhos. Let me think about it.
It was a question; you answered it. :-)
Just read that Ryan Howard could miss 2012 because of a torn achilles.....that sucks.
That’s quite a record, I’m impressed. I would have never predicted the Phillies out so early.
That game 5 stand with a one run lead — IN Yankee stadium — was one for the ages. :’) Two months ago or so, Verlander was considered head and shoulders above the rest of the pitching staff. All he was doing was laughing and smiling and never had to take the mound in game 5. That was a hell of a bullpen, and Jim’s comments after the game were the classiest I’ve yet heard this season, from anyone.
My game-watching has been confined to streaming web tidbits this year (for the most part). The homeplate camera angle shows Verlander’s face as he pitches, which is an unfamiliar angle to me, but wow! The scariest game-face I’ve ever seen. :’)
He may miss 2012.
I got to thinking....what if Howard actually got a base hit? The outfielder probably throws to first and Howard would be out....but is that really the way you want to get the final out????? I would consider allowing Howard to take the base, out of good sportsmanship, he earned the hit. Tough call. Although I understand in the heat of the moment, you don't really know what's going on....so I'd probably go ahead and throw him out.
The Indians really helped made it a great season — not the late fade, but that was a hell of a chase, and the Tigers were applying ointment to the backs of their necks most of the way. Anyway, as a Tigers fan, thanks!
Verlander seems like a good guy but he’s all business on the mound.
Yeah, it’s amusing to leave the Pisstones out of that list, but they could wind up surprising us.
The Lions’ dry spell is now far longer than the now-forgotten 40 year dry spell of the Red (formerly Dead) Wings. Just two undefeated teams in the entire NFL, and both are in the Black and Blue. It’s great to be alive to see this. :’)
