EXPORT, Pa. -- Consumer advocate Mary Bach won a civil judgment Thursday against Walmart in a case in which she alleged the retail giant misrepresented prices and overcharged her.
District Judge Charles Conway awarded Bach $180.50 in damages.
The Murrysville woman's complaint alleged that Walmart advertised goods at one price but intended to sell them at a higher price, violating the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Act of 1968.
It was the fifth time Bach has sued Walmart over pricing issues at the same store in Delmont.

If she’s interested in some really big money, she ought to take aim at something else....like Solyndra.
One word: Solydra
This is Walmart. They have one of the best inventory systems in the world. They track EVERYTHING in the store. This is no accident.
They do have an excellent inventory system, tracking over 50,000 items on a daily basis.
They are the largest retailer in the world and you are accusing them of knowingly stealing two cents from their only source of income, their customers.
You are insane.
I sold multi-million dollar systems to major retailers, J.C. Penney, Wal-Mart, Giant Eagle and many more and the only way to steal two cents through the computer system would have to be via a computer program.
Any person even suggesting that kind of an idea would have been fired on the spot.
I say again, if you really believe that a major retailer would steal from their customers, you are insane.
Retailers have people on their payroll that constantly shop at and monitor their competition, and this kind of corporate vs customer theft would be outed loudly and immediately.
I live in the Murrysville area, and this “consumer advocate” has been playing this game for years and years. IMHO it has long ago gone from anything that has to do with trying to fix a problem to doing anything she can to get her 15 minutes of fame. And yes, she seems to have a real problem with Walmart....and WAY too much time on her hands.
“You are insane.”
Why thank you.
But since you stated you sell multi-million dollar systems to retailers, I’ll assume you’ve taken business law. And I remember the two top discussion items from business law; price-fixing and bait and switch in advertising.
“I say again, if you really believe that a major retailer would steal from their customers, you are insane.”
Do you know WHY we have the Unfair Act in the first place? Because places like Sears and other major department stores would advertise appliances at a low price to get them in the store and then try to sell the item at a higher price. That’s why they say ‘Only 10 per store’ or whatever. This is a very big deal in business.
And it doesn’t have to be Walmart company doing it. Individual employees override the computer prices all the time but Walmart is still responsible.
One time I saw a big sign stating large eggs 99 cents over a stack of large eggs. I took a cell phone pix of the sign because that price was lower than the med eggs and I suspected it was wrong. Sure enough, I was charged 1.29 for my eggs, which I challenged by showing the cashier my picture. But you can't do that for 100 grocery items, can you?
Hell no, I've hired, fired and hated more damn lawyers {like you} than I can remember.
I stand corrected, you are NOT insane, it's worse, you're a lawyer, scum of the earth.
Bait and switch is used in high end items not two cents on an item scam.
I could be wrong again, you could be an insane lawyer and that would make you less harmful.
