The slide show linked to this Wall Street Journal article does mention how LARGE basic monthly costs became for these monster homes, and also suggests that the extravagant homes become white elephants too big, too different, way off scale from the neighborhoods around them. Impossible to sell.

Still, the modality of complaint seems to be that the owners attempt to live off the houses by mortgaging and re-mortgaging.

Doesn't the mortgage banker bear part of that blame?

BTW, I think Michelle looks pretty good in all these pictures. And I have been as critical as anyone over her appearance these past 3 years. Is anyone serious that she should wear a wig when working outdoors in the summer heat? Really? Would you?

I clicked on this thread because I thought she was going to look dreadful in that sparkly skirt, but I was pleasantly surprised, and the "corset" belt is stunning on her. Until tomorrow and she appears in something gawdawfuul, I think she's finally found her style. I hate the Bounty dress, however. THe rest of it is pretty good.

I just came home from Church, so I guess I'm a bit "off" my insult game. LOL. Or, Lord, have mercy!
