We have failed the Founding Fathers in countless ways. And we continue to slowly boil, while shaking our tiny fists at the beast.

"Slowly"? It happened fast and now it's too late. I read a lot of biographies and am constantly amazed at how free we were as recently as the 70s and 80s. And OMG, pre-WWII was anarchy! We blew it.

Well you are correct that the avalanche that is our government has certainly gained a lot of momentum in the last ten to twenty years, but the spark of this bloated pig began with the 16th amendment in 1913, then really gained momentum with FDR and his move to go off the gold standard, the New Deal, and the many other socialist programs he started and a battered electorate was more than willing to accept.

Hoover spent massive amounts of money, and it did nothing to stop the onset of the depression. Why the idiots in DC and the public continue to believe that increased theft in the form of "taxes" and increased spending will improve our current lot is beyond me.

We were given a Republic, and we failed to keep it.
