He didn't. The movie was a bunch of fabricated lies about Our Savior. I know that's not a popular stance, but it's true.

The Bible does not say he was tempted by Satan in the Garden, but then it also doesn't say he wasn't.
Adding things that may have happened but aren't specifically stated as having occured aren't "lies." This particular example is a not unreasonable extrapolation from what we know happened and I don't see how it in any way denigrates Christ.
