Inter-country adoption is highly benefical for children from poor, unstable or rigidly traditional societies.

Having spent a few years living in SK, I discovered that there is a huge stigma with being an orphan or being born out of wedlock (blood and family is all important in their culture), and there is very little support for them.

Korean babies that are adopted by Westerners live a much better life.

I live in Australia, an a friend of the family adopted a child from Korea. She is now university educated and working in a great job.
