I started following politics with seriousness around 1970, when I was a teenager. I can say without any hesitation that this speech by Pres. Bush on Sept 20, 2001, was the greatest political speech I have ever seen.

I was in New York that day. I had flown a red-eye from CA to go to Ground Zero and try and volunteer. I stood about 100 feet from the rubble, which was still burning. I could taste the dust, and I can still smell the awfulness today.

My services were not needed, so I went to stay with my uncle in Jersey. We watched the speech in his living room. I have never been so moved by a speech in my entire life. I felt God’s presence.

George W. Bush was the right man at the right time for that occasion.

“We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail” was my tagline for a very long time. I believe he said that during that speech.

"A REAL and VALID reason for a Joint Session of Congress."

Are you saying that a speech kicking off your re-election campaign is not a valid reason????

The night that GW gave this speech was a Thursday. I don't remember if there was a Thursday Night football game going on. I kind of doubt it. But if there were, is there any doubt what everyone would have been watching? Would George Bush have had to re-arrange his speech time for the football game? It should tell everyone how inconsequential Obama's speech was.

Bush's speech was so important because it laid out the foundation for what we know of as the Bush Doctrine for fighting the War on Islamo Fascism. Most of which is being followed today. The parts that aren't, will start to be followed again after 2012.

Bush’s speech filled the country with confidence. We started to believe that the US would be OK. I’ll never forget. God bless George W.

Oh God... I tried watching it but couldn’t even get past Mrs. Beamer without choking up completely.

Bush's amnesty for illegals plans destroyed his presidency and handed the US to Hussein Obama. And now we have clowns like Romney and Emperor Maximilian Perry running the GOP.

Bush's legacy!

Every bit as moving and inspiring today as it was ten years ago.

Thank God we had President Bush in September 2001.
