Who knew there was even this type of money available to be stolen in the first place?

It’s terrible the money was stolen—but this sort of give-away program must be stopped. We cannot afford it.

If folks were forced to work for food, they would do it. We have too many people who are third and fourth generation welfare receipents, IMHO......

I don’t think we would see people dying in the streets of hunger. People would figure out a way to feed themselves and their children.

This couple are a pair of lazy pikers. $13.5 million for 6 preschools operated over 8 years is a measly $281,000 per school per year. If they served 4700 meals and snacks for 188 children, it is a mere $15.28 per meal or snack and not the 2,900 meals and snacks for 116 children or $40.13 each as the government claims.

Do you really think you can buy a meal or snack for a preschooler for $15.28 in New York? What do you supposed these people could have skimmed from Fedzilla if they had set up a solar company and contributed sufficiently to the mob boss campaign?

Is it their fault they didn't have sufficiently high ambitions?

Did the 9/11 terrorist know what they were attacking?

Just asking.

More theft of taxpayers funds courtesy of an incompetent and overbloated Federal Bureaucracy and the leeches who deceitfully suck from it

Well well, a Chinese schoolmaster and schoolmistress (they weren’t even naturalized Americans) cheated the government out of money they claimed was going to subsidize lunches for Chinese kids in a Chinese school.

If this was discovered happening in China, and it sounds like some of the shenanigans that have popped up there from time to time, they’d end up getting shot. At least they didn’t feed the kids melamine (as far as we know).

This is just the tiny tiny tip of s multi-trillion$ iceberg. Entitlement welfare. If only one hungry child gets fed, it's worth the collateral waste.

It's only taxpayer money, and they can always print more.

Meanwhile, the parent(s) receive food stamp funds as if they were actually feeding them three meals a day. In addition to the preschool funding, school districts offer breakfast and lunch via government funding as well as snack bags for the weekend in many urban areas. The overlap means that parents provide, at most, 11 meals a week while being given enough food stamp money to provide for 21 meals a week. I dated a school teacher who taught in an urban district and there were minority kids who entered school not fully potty trained who had watched all of the SAW horror films. Their parent tended not to feed them many of the 11 meals they were expected to provide.

Charity should be provided for by charitable organizations, not the government. At the very least, governmental programs should have strings attached and a limited number of staple food selections.
