I have to wonder if she didn't have alternatives to quitting, such as asking the legislature to change the law to address the abuses. Ditto for finding a way to defray costs.

The Rats controlled the state legislature (under Obama lackeys Hollis French and Kim Elton) and had a directive straight from Rouse to take Sarah down. And the first legal defense fund her supporters set up was declared 'illegal' by the Rat operative assigned to investigate it.

Are you sure about that? My recollection is that the GOP controlled both chambers. French was on a committee to look into Troopergate but I don't recall him being the president of the Senate.

The article you referred me to says:

Investigator Timothy Petumenos said the Alaska Fund Trust inappropriately used the word "official" on its website to describe it, wrongly implying Palin's endorsement as governor.

It sounds like the fund might have been legal if organized differently.
