She lost a fair amount of support when she left the governorship in the middle of her term.

All those ethics suits brought state business to a halt. Although Palin had to pay her own attorney fees, state workers had to get info from the records. As soon as suits were dismissed, more were filed. Since Alaska government could no longer function properly, should she have stayed? And yes, I am asking you a serious question.
Btw, it wasn't the middle of her term. She served 2/3rds.

She lost a fair amount of support when she left the governorship in the middle of her term. Except for those who understand why she left and that she was putting the welfare of the people of Alaska first. Also, she would not have been able to come to the lower 48 and help us take back the House otherwise. Those who fear and/or hate her will use her resignation in an attempt to tear her down, but most thinking, fair-minded people (and I realize not everyone is, even here on FR) will understand exactly why she did what she did and it will not have much impact in the long run.

She lost a fair amount of support when she left the governorship in the middle of her term. She only lost the support of mindless ignoramuses by resigning. Unfortunately, 2008 proved that mindless ignoramuses comprise about 52% of the electorate.
