Amen, yesterday we had rain for hours in Plano.
Houston. Our trees are dying. Memorial Park from the air looks awful. They are cutting dead trees everyday.
In the early 90’s I lived in Corpus and it was dry (not like this). When we moved to Houston it rained all the time I was sooooo happy.
I just pray that we get a good soaking. Considering we need about 15 inches I’ll take anything at this point.
These fires are depressing me. I can’t stand all of the losses. Human, Nature. Destruction bothers me.
Okay thanks, I do see some activity to the southwest that looks like real rain and it’s moving in this direction. Praying it holds together as it moves towards us — maybe afternoon heating will charge it up some more. We do have a 30% chance in the forecast today and tomorrow and a whopping 50% chance on Monday. Better odds than we’ve had in months and months.
YEA!!!!!!!!!!
It’s raining in Katy too..
Thank You Lord!
Yes, we spent a night in Houston the end of August, and it was dismal. The lawns were brown and it just looked terrible (especially coming from FL). I really feel for you all. I was really hoping Lee would bring you some rain but it looks like all you got was wind and fire. The only good news is that Texans are tough and resilient. But man, when Houston starts to look like Midland, it’s NOT good.
Yesterday we had our first “real” rain since April, but it didn’t last long, maybe 10 minutes.
It’s a start though, and I’m thankful. :)
Yes it is raining here in Houston too. I am thrilled. I don’t even mind if the dogs are wet. LOL
It always rains after a dry spell.
In North Houston and have not seen a DROP. Many Pine trees are brown, we REALLY need the water.
I am waiting on mine but it’s all around. Hope yours lasts for 12 inches.
Hopei t moves that way. We are in Northwest Houston.
The water ban didn’t help. But I think people thought we need the water in case the fires get to us.
A nice shower every day for a week would be nice.
True but this was a lot worse than a dry spell.
We truely needed this.
You must live in Texas. I am happy for you.
We got 18 SECONDS of drizzle yesterday. Come on. That’s a cheenchy downpayment.
are most of the fires getting out?
I am happy for you. Hope this eases the problems
Thank G-d. Hope you get as much as you need. When I checked this morning, it said your chances of rain today were pretty good, but the chances of tornadoes and stuff was along with it. How is your forecast for the rest of today and tomorrow?
I live in Cypress Texas (northwest Houston), and we had a monsoonal event today, a drought buster for sure - we received 0.16 inches of rain in only 45 minutes!!
Houston. Looks like that large cell is headed toward Waco.
Maybe they will get some today.
It just stopped. Praying for more, but grateful for what we got.
I hope this has been enough to ease some of this fire threat.
