I still remember putting on about 5 or 6 pair of underwear to soften the belt whippings I had. When my father saw that, he made me drop my pants and all my underwear. A belt smacking against bare skin really hurts.
As someone else wrote, my dad would have got the electric chair, with all beltings his 5 sons had received.
