You are on to something. Many have been conditioned to think the state defines marrieage, to the joy of the statists and homosexualists. Some religious institutions wouldn’t allow their clergy to perform marriages for the gays until the state patted them on the head and told them it was OK to do so. God forbid the state refuses to issue pieces of paper for hetero couples of these faiths, I reckon there would only be gay marriages performed.
Luckily there are many faiths that don’t think a piece of paper from the gubberment makes one married or not. It’s just a shame the state has the power to punish them for rejecting its ever devolving take on marriage, to the joy of the homosexualists and statists.
