Personally I like Thad McCotter and actually understand his pro union stance as being a product of his district. Unfortunately being a product of his district is what will hurt him most.
His vote for the auto bailout was not just a product of his “district”. McCotter cited the fact stated by Moody’s that a GM/Chrysler collapse would have put a $300 biilion hit on the Social Safety Net. In addition, from a National Security standpoint, does anyone think it would be prudent to allow our auto manufacturing capablities to disappear? Besides, what is wrong with a Conservative Republican candidate who might actually attract some “Reagan Democrats” .
