Thank you! I have wanted this sort of material for a long time.
You should publish this along with a narrative format to tie it all together. Some thing which lists each president and who controlled each house during their tenure and the yearly changes. Something like, “Bill Clinton's first two years were dominated by democrats in both chambers and it wasn't till the Republican revolution that the budgets were balanced.” Or, “Ronald Reagan's terms were hampered by democrat...”
I would pay for such an article maybe someone else would too.

Very nice charts in terms of content. Also very impressive that you could get an image out of Excel that is this sharp. I've never been able to do that.
OTOH, I do use the free ASAP utility for Excel that includes an Excel to HTML routine that really works. Unless you're on a Mac you should give it try and see how it looks in FR's HTML sandbox. The results are pretty much one to one with what you see in Excel and the links (if you have any) are live. That's a big advantage if you need to include links that are built into the spreadsheet. I don't know any other way to do it.
