The iodized salt did help alleviate goiter but there is such a miniscule amount of iodine added to it that it does not have a solid affect in saturating our cells with iodine because of the toxins that ‘mimic’ iodine and block its absorption in tiny doses. When I say tiny, I mean the RDA in the US is 150 mcg and the Japanese, as an example, get 14-15 mg per day (excuse the sorry math, but about 1000 x more). They have a VERY low incidence of breast/thyroid/uterine/ovarian/prostate cancer in Japan.
Japanese women breast eat few animal fats, and breast feed for a long time (no cows milk).
On the other hand, they have a very high risk of high blood pressure related problems and stomach cancer.
