So if there are tunnels connecting military bases across the country, what I want to know is, where did they put the dirt?

I was driving in Switzerland once, when barrier arms went down across the road, and a squadron of F-5’s came out of a nearby mountain to take off on the straightened roadway on the valley floor. There was a VERY large pile of granite rubble under the mouth of the cave they came out of.
