How do they patent a bacteria??? I could work 100%, but we’ll never see it to market without patenting the bacteria!!!

Color me a little dubious. The idea is that the pro-drug will be activated in the low oxygen center of the tumor and succeed in reaching the borders of the tumor, the spreading part, and kill it there too. And if the center of the tumor has such a poor blood supply, how much of the pro-drug is going to reach it to be transformed by the enzyme? It’s a cool idea and I hope it works.

Also it will do absolutely nothing to small metastases, but if you have a big slow-spreading primary tumor in a bad place, like the brain or spinal column, it could be a good treatment.

There are some current studies regarding cancer-killing virus.

My father always said, “eating a little dirt is good for you.” I thought it was a philosophical position but now I know why. Maybe both are right.

Dead folks are buried in the dirt.
Dead folks don’t get cancer do they?
I rest my case.

Clostridium sporogenes, wow, that’s what I used for my science fair project! ;’)

This organism, like all Clostridiim, is anaerobic so its enzymes prefer that environment. Like you, I think the idea is fascinating and I hope it works too!

There are some current studies regarding cancer-killing virus. And, IIRC, something else about a cancer-targeting bacteria. Let's just hope that some of this stuff pans out. I would love to see a time when cancers are treated as infections are today.

I have been long-ago convinced that God in His signature way, while mocking Man's pride not calling on Him, will show the cure for Cancer to be something like this - "Well you mix some poison ivy with Cow saliva" or something so basic from the Earth.

It sounds very interesting... but I have to say that any member of the Clostridium species seriously worries me. Its cousins cause gangrene and botulin poisoning...
