President Barack Obama is scheduled to host Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson and several other participants in the 2010 Chase field Wednesday at the White House.
Obama, who often welcomes sports champions to the White House, will congratulate Johnson, who won his fifth straight title last year, and meet with NASCAR chairman Brian France.
The White House event is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday. Drivers will be honored there as they prepare to race at nearby Richmond International Raceway Saturday night, Sept. 10.
Other 2010 Chase drivers expected to attend are Clint Bowyer, Jeff Burton, Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth.
Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart have scheduling conflicts and are not expected to attend.
Wouldn’t be the first johnson Obama has hosted in the White House.
No, he’ll be insisting that every race be held at Chicagoland Speedway.
Think the muslim has any idea about NASCAR? Just a little vote-getting $$$ from the idjit Brian.

Why was Dick Trickle not invited?

Obamah, “How’s my Ethanol mandate working out for you boyz? ...faster and more fuel efficient, I bet?”
You beat me to it.
LOL.
Brian’s granddaddy put the kibosh on engine development in the 60’s the Ford cammer and the Hemi Chrysler dual overhead cam engine.
He hosted this thing last year and one of the ESPN analysts asked him who he liked to win the Cup.
He was clueless... “Um, um, I don’t have a favorite. There are so many good ones. I wouldn’t want to put pressure on anyone. Blah, blah...”
Jeff Burton is a conservative and has said he’s thought of running for office at some point. Maybe he could have a Joe the Plumber moment.
Ya know the poser doesn’t show up at a NASCAR event caue he’d get BOOOOOed til he turned red.
Looks like every chase driver EXCEPT Dale Earnhart Jr who is currently 9th, was mentioned.

Supposedly President Bill Clinton showed up at a track on practice day and wanted a few laps around the track as a passenger. It was a political stunt [1996 ?].
As the story goes not one of the drivers would volunteer to take take Clinton for a spin. Finally after much hemming and hawing veteran driver Mark Martin said he would do it since he lived in Arkansas and has a Ford Dealership in Clinton's home state. That solved the problem.

With two more races to go the field for The Chase is not set. As things stand today Ryan Newman in 7th, Dale Jr at 9th and Brad Keselowsk as the 1st Wild Card are missing from the group.
Bowyer, Biffle and Burton would not be in The Chase. Bowyer needs a win plus a good finish in the other race. Biffle has a mathematical chance but it is very slim. Burton has no chance.
If Jr was not invited Jr Nation will not be happy with the snub.
2010 Chase drivers.
My bad.
Read the article dummy.
Junior needs a win, been a long time for him BUT it ooks like he’ll make the chase.
