Ocean View got its usual stellar pitching and added in the timely hitting it needed to do what no other team from Orange County had done.
It won the Little League World Series championship.

CONGRATS OCEAN VIEW!! They are amazing!! Its great to have something to root for here in LA, since we won’t be having basketball for a while
you guys must be so proud. why else would this be posted four times?
Great job by the CA kids. Shows how close our hometown PA kids were to the best.
From my perch in Hollywood, congrats to OC. My cuz in Costa Mesa was in the LWS back in the late 90’s and I’m sure he’s happy too.
What a great game! The kids all played wonderfully. I have decided that LL is lots more fun to watch than the Pros.
Just to piss you off.
What an ass.
takes a lot more than that. So keep on, since you have nothing else to do.
So I guess in that case you’re just all cranky by nature.
Hey, while we’re at it, can you show me where the other three article are about this story? I can’t find them.
That was the extent of my support, I was hoping Montana would kick their little butts yesterday but it never happened.
Montana's interstate 29 leagues which also encompasses Idaho was no match for California's 800 +..................
My favorite player of the series was Montana's Connor Kleickenbusch, the little 4'8", 74 lb. second baseman........I loved that little guy!
As a side note, the tournament rules need to be modified and brought on parr with other tournaments which entail double elimination playoffs.
Specifically, Montana was undefeated and had beaten Califiornia thus sending California into the losers bracket.
California then won the losers bracket and only had to beat Montana once to make it to the series championship..........In normal double elimination tournaments, California would have been required to play a second game following Montana's first loss to them and the winner of THAT game would have moved on to the championship............
Oh well, kudos to ESPN and the other networks for their expansion of TV coverage that included regional championships and beyond. That was pure baseball the way it was meant to be played........by kids.
Congratulations California, your kids did good!
The population of Huntington Beach is about 189,000 and Billings is about 100,000, so there’s not THAT big a difference.
Somehow I think these champs are more revered and followed in California than the LA Dodgers.
I never saw that, in fact, I was quite impressed with the way ALL the coaches handled their players. No evidence of negativity but rather positive encouragement...........
In fact, Montana's coach Tom Zimmer was exceptionally cool in handling his pitchers when they were struggling and blaming the soft ground on the pitchers mound.......
It was a great series with great coverage and congratulations to California......
The OC is Angels country, though of course there are a lot of Dodger fans too. It’s hard to explain to those who don’t live here, but Orange County is both part of LA and completely separate at the same time.
That has been my general impression of the coaches I have seen over the years. This one didn’t come off so well to me.
I watched the game, as I always do. Great game, not so great announcers. Brent Musburger showed little excitement throughout the whole game.
The kids were wonderful, great kids, this is the 2nd time a Cali team has won the LLWS, I think the first one was San Bernardino..so its great having something to root for here in LA. Montana is a great team too, when they first beat us I didn’t think we stood a chance against them, but 2nd time was the charm. Congrats to both teams, and I think Montana has a great chance of winning it all next year!
Seven teams from California have won the LLWS, the first in 1961. Chula Vista won in 2009.
Id actually root for the Dodgers if they were to get rid of McCourt, who is a cancer on the team..when they finally get rid of him and bring in some good management, the team will be watchable again..my uncle is a hardcore fan and even he stopped watching them, he’s like, whats the point, not like they will be making the playoffs. Ive been an Angel fan ever since they won the title in 2002, LOVE the power of the Rally Monkey!
