At the Lake Mojave Resort Buster Favor says that the only other guest is Franklin J. Meloy, who has a scar. Johnny and Pat go out on the Lake fishing. They see a man with a metallic object in the distance. Johnny sneaks up on him. He is holding blue steel binoculars. He is Franklin J. Meloy, friend of Claire the stewardess and all he wants is to learn Johnny’s favorite fishing spots for lunker bass on the Lake.
