No love. I just lived in Texas forever and “get it.” We need SOMEONE to do the crappy jobs. The problem is that when they get in, either illegally or with work visas, they run off and stay here and the feds will not deport. THIS is the problem. I’m a realist. And don’t want to pay $10 for an onion. Sorry if that doesn’t suit.
I always thought of Texans as patriots. This thread is making some of you look like Bay Area denizens.
Only a small fraction of those here pick produce. That you don't know all this illuminates why you would so rabidly support a man as liberal as Rick Perry. That, and the fact that you think he' cute. How shallow and petty can one get.
Too bad.
You make the worst argument that all fake conservative,pro-illegal people make;
“I’m okay breaking the law as long as it suits me economically.”
If upholding the rule of law means that in our economy an onion costs 10 dollars—— then that is what an onion costs. It is called the free market. Then- guess what!? Some enterprising person will come along and see a great opportunity to make money by creating something that makes picking onions more tolerable and efficient (a machine, a process, etc) and then he’ll get them cheaper and sell them cheaper and be the onion king. That’s how the free market works and that is how America made our money and greatness. No exceptions here.
Your argument is no different than any urban drug dealers. Breaking the law to line your pockets because following the law to make money is “too hard” or “not enough.”
Admit the selfishness and ridiculousness of your stance and stop pretending in any way to be conservative.
