Richard Wolters in, “Gun Dog” says to take them at exactly 49 days (7 weeks). That is when I have always taken my puppies.
You have beautiful dogs. :)
*Complete* agreement.
:)
[Odin outweighs me and is *much* stronger than I am but he doesn’t know that....~PSYCH!~]...LOL
I don’t think Charles Schulz ever revealed how old Snoopy was when he was adopted from the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm. Of course he was relatively sane compared to his littermates Spike and Olaf.
I hear you. Joey, our pup, was a little fussy at the start of our trip home, but then fell asleep.
After that, he never showed the slightest sign of homesickness. He seemed thrilled to arrive at our home, and eager to settle in. He’s a joy.
Lots of people say that.
She is a Portuguese Podengo Medio which is an ancient combination of the Podengos in the Mediterranean area and some kind of smaller, indigenous dog, breed unknown.

As with the Ibizan Hounds, the Phoenecians carted them there.
;D
I *loved* Spike!
LOL
Do you have retrievers?
Well, thank you...:)
OMG...is that Joey on your page?
I *squealed*!
What an adorable little guy!
[need more photos, please]
:)
LOL! He’s smiling! :)
That explains it. Old breeds (ie. ones that have survived for many centuries on their own) tend to have the same physical characteristics. Curly tails, short coats, that body type. You see it in the Carolina dogs, basenjis, dingoes, New Guinea singing dogs.
Thanks, I learned something new today.
I bet she’s a fast runner too.
I asked because I have two basenjis, although at 15 and 16 respectively, they aren’t the fireballs they once were.
You’re a Sight Hound person, too?
Have you ever coursed?
It’s a trip!
[to an insane asylum]....LOL
I always thought that was the norm. Our dogs, a toy breed, were 12 weeks before the breeder started selling them. The one came to us at 15-16 weeks. Her brother left at 15 weeks, was returned to the breeder and came to us at about five months. It took them a couple days to bond with each other, but no time at all to bond with the humans in the house.
I wish I could provide more, but I don’t have them uploaded. I guess I’m going to have to nag Mr. T again. :)
Very cool dogs.
Frankly, I don’t know *what* he was doing....LOL
I was syncing my iPhone when he rolled over and gave me that horrible, deformed “Dog-goyle” face and I snapped it before he hopped down to stretch.
His “fans” on FR have been laughing at it, ever since.
