After the Katrina debacle, every media outlet and politician goes into total CYA mode if a hurricane is predicted to hit. The Armaggedon hysteria over this is absurd. It is a bad storm but not catastrophic. It's the same every time a blizzard is coming, complete hysteria.

Wasn’t Katrina so devastating because a levee broke. If that had not happened, would we remember that one as particularly devastating?

We had a blizzard 1.5 years go. It dropped 4 ft of snow on top of 2 ft of snow and we didn't get out for 2 weeks.
