Thank you for posting...I was in “WOF” for almost 20 years of my Christian life until I watched a TV show called Word Pictures. I went to their website and found a book called The Sovereignty of God by A.W. Pink....it changed my life forever. Now God and Jesus are firmly in control of all the good and bad in my life....and I have learned to Trust Him....such peace. I also highly recommend the book written by the puritans called “Christian Contentment”.
So many lies in the church today, but God always has His remnant. Praise God!
To all Christians, If your life in no way resembles God’s greatest prophets or disciples with all of there hardships and trials....then how does the world know that you trust Him? As Job said: Shall we not accept evil as well as good from the Lord? No, my friend, If you are His...everything comes through His loving hands to teach us to Trust Him and to be content with what we do have. Then, after all is said and done...we will truly be called the trophies of His Grace and we will all praise Him for eternity!
Today's Word with Joel Osteen:
MONEY
FAME
WEALTH
RICHES
AVARICE
"POWER of POSITIVE THINKING" Sorry, that was FOUR words.
HEALTH
CHARLATAN
IMPOSTER
FRAUD
"Wolf in Sheeps Clothing"... Sorry, that was FOUR words again.
PHONY
Joel Osteen has proven time and time again through his statements, writings and actions that he is a false shepherd, preaching a false "health and wealth, name it and claim it, power of positive thinking, so-called 'gospel'".
“Every time I see the daily “Today’s Word with Joel Osteen... [Devotional] I want to puke. If it were not a so-called “devotional” thread this is what I would write on a daily basis:

You may not be able to post your thoughts on a “devotional” thread, but you could have pinged Vision who posts them (done!) and see if it elicits any response here.
The few that I’ve looked at seem to contain the sort of thing that I get so tired of hearing at secular “personal development” courses, which, unfortunately, I am subjected to regularly at work. I make myself very unpopular at those!
“Step number one is Say it.”
No, only God can “speak” anything into existence.
Those infomercials make me angry. It is all about the money with them.
I actually watch them sometimes. I think it’s important to raise my blood pressure. (-:
It sure doesn’t take them long to get to the reason they are there: SEND US THE MONEY.
We will all have to answer someday so I sure hope these guys are really happy now because it is very possible that the hereafter will not be nearly so comfortable.
I find it interesting that Joel when pressed with the question about the Gospel on Larry King Live failed to answer it acknowledging that Christ is the only was to get to heaven.
True, but I don’t think that BG sought that lifestyle or was motivated by it. A rarity, he seems a very humble man, and he never used his ministry to exalt himself.
The problem with almost all “para-church” ministries is that if successful, their purpose changes from the original purpose/vision into simple self-propagation. I don’t see this in BG ministry.
But the problem in the majority of churches today is that they are simply platforms for men who wish to be kings to build and expand their own kingdoms (power, position, influence), rather than have the attitude of John the Baptist...”may He increase, may I decrease...”
But then, I would argue from tons of scripture that what are commonly called churches today are not churches at all as scripture uses the word “ekklesia”. What are called “churches” today are really Christian clubs - and in their essence contradict the very thing that the ekklesia really is.

Spot on! I feel the same way. Who really are the imbeciles who attend this guy’s church and buy his books. True, a sucker is born every minute.
