Not all college “educations” are the same. I'll bet you that thousands of successful employers will see this story and will always be watching for a resume that has “Elmhurst” listed on it. As someone who has interviewed hundreds of college grads I've found that sometimes that resume on your desk tells a story that the person who submits it didn't intend to offer. The old saying goes “let the buyer beware.” If I had a kid about to make the decision on what college to go to I'd hand them this story and suggest to them that they could be seriously damaging their potential for success by spending four or five years of their live to end up with an “education” bullet on their resume from a place like this. Let tomorrow's “basket-weavers” and welfare queens spend their inheritance on an Elmhurst degree. Who cares...?

True enough. I’ve received many resumes on my desk from liberal Macalester College that immediately went into the trash. I don’t care what their resume says. Most of the time, having a liberal on the team adds a lot of unnecessary stress, and everyone has to walk on eggshells about what they say around the office.

(so that's what they meant by Carter's second term)
