After all, insurance companies do call these sorts of events "acts of God", right? Earthquakes come from the other direction, don't they?

LOL, never really thought about it before.

It is amazing - the Katrina Syndrome lives on. Waiting for someone in authority to give orders or provide transportation, rescue and provisions.
There should be no such thing as MANDATORY EVACUATIONS.
only *early, **timely and ***too late!!
People who don’t have enough common sense to avoid the risks of well documented hazards & take care of themselves are too stupid to survive.

And we are not even in the year 2012 yet. Just wait until the Mayans start unloading on us.

I’ve always wanted to tie myself to a palm tree and see if I could ride one of those hurricanes out.

Well let’s see.
First there was the earth quake Tuesday. Then there is the hurricane this weekend. And next week Obama returns to D.C... I think God only utters 3 woes.....at least I hope that’s all.

He will wait until the last minute, shutting down the roads and the airport to everyone else.

Ive always wanted to tie myself to a palm tree and see if I could ride one of those hurricanes out. That's been tried, and I understand there are a few people around that even lived to tell about it.

I keep waiting for some dingbat weathernerd to get decapitated, standing out in a hurricane while sagely warning the little people to stay inside because of windblown debris.

This statue of Poseidon is more powerful than Michelangelo's David.

Ego is the god of this world; worshipped by all, overtly or covertly.

Our power will probably be out, so I’ll miss it first hand. Have to rely on reruns.

Well, at least you won’t miss the oddly provincial northeastern focus of our putatively national networks, sending goofball talking heads out on Montauk Point to stand in the breeze and drizzle, talking up the dire possiblities for important places such as Noo Yawk, while Cape Hatteras is getting pounded at that very moment.
Priorities, you know.
To: Gritty
Excellent. I enjoy reading Denninger.
