LOL funny
I’m not sure but my pioneer and native American ancestors
used to batter and fried squash blossoms just like these.
We haven’t had to fry squash blossoms since the great Depression — life was so good, but now we all may hope that we have some blossoms to fry pretty soon. I’ll look for through my old recipes. May have to start eating “shuck beans” again too if things keep getting worse. So much for hope and change.
Yep, either zucchini, pumpkin or some other type of squash. If it gets really long vines, it’s probably a pumpkin. We have a huge one growing in our yard. Seeds must have been in my compost pile because we certainly didn’t intend to plant pumpkin! However, we now have 7 nice pumpkins growing! We also had some unexpected crookneck squash (again, seeds in the compost pile). The flowers of both looked just like that! Got some yummy cheese-squash soup in my freezer for winter enjoyment now!
