My 75 year old father, old school tough guy, had hernia surgery last week.
This is the only the second time he has taken any pain meds.
The other time was for a crushed disc in his spine, with horrible siatica pains down his leg. (Yes spelling police, I spelled siatica wrong).
It’s been a week now and he’s had his first check up, and he’s healing fine.
The pain will just subside day by day.
I have a wonderful sister in law who had hernia surgery a few years ago, she was about 40, and I don’t recall her complaining greatly about the pain. She was careful to obey the weight lifting restrictions the doctors gave her. She is totally fine now.
Dear Old Dad will be fine too.
You’ll be fine. But I’d be ready to take the pain killers for a while. My father is hating being indoors so much, I don’t think he’s ever been in the house this much. He is used to working outside all day on the farm.
Wishing you the best of luck and a fast recovery, TheConservativeParty
Thanks for your input. Guess I’ll be on some vicodin again.
I have about 6 left from my other surgery but I bet they’re out of date.
