Just learned I need to move to Connecticut - Fairfield County area (like within 30 days) . I have questions that are not for Realtors, but for Freepers. You know the ones.
RE: CCW laws. I took our LTC carry class at Smith and Wesson in Springfield, MA. Half the class was from CT. The instructor covered everything required in both states in the six hour class. The CT people had to stay for another 90 minutes to cover the class time they needed.
Not a big deal. But the carry rules in CT are easier than MA.
More bicyclists die in Hillsborough County (and not because of bicyclists though they aren't perfect, but drivers pull out in front of bicyclists and drivers don't give bicyclists the required 3 feet. Again, bicyclists - and I do alot of biking - do not follow the rules -- some of them ride with two on a bike going against the traffic.)
I'm moving to Maine -- I may not have palm trees in my front yard, but at least the lakes won't kill you.
I forgot to mention my favorite thing in Fairfield County: All the national radio ads and sunday paper inserts for, say, fastfood joints - in the fine print it’ll often say, “Offer not valid in HI, AK and Fairfield County, CT.
I think that says all that needs to be said!
With three exceptions -- the Bluefish baseball team, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers hockey team and the Beardsley Park Zoo (CT's only zoo).
A few of the small towns are Republican (Hebron, Marlborough, Ellington, South Windsor, too)
I think the pt Barnum museum is also in Bpt.
Regarding schools and FL/ct, CT is a moral mess everywhere, and an unmitigated mess in Meriden, nh, hfd, etc.
I went to prep school in ct, and even that wasn’t such a much. We are homeschooling ours, so it is a nonissue.
You are correct! I forgot that and also Barnum and the grave of Tom Thumb is in Bridgeport, too.
Bridgeport could be a tourist destination if it wasn't a HELLHOLE!!
