He is GWB II big time. And we all know Bush mislead conservatives until he got our money and our votes then we saw who he really is, a RINO.

The man said he and Mr Gore were not that far apart on many/most issues. He didn't mislead. People just didn't want to listen. He ran as a typical Rockefeller Republican just like his dad whom people thought was going to follow the Reagan Legacy. One issue he definitely did openly mislead on though was nation building. Bush was More Big Government and with the help of the GOP congress made the office of POTUS and Executive Departments of government far too powerful. For allowing the GOP to go there we got what we have today.

This just in:

Rick Perry backed an already-climate-crusading Al Gore in '88

A woman will not win POTUS not yet...not gonna happen. It is still very much a man’s world.

Really? Ever heard of Margaret Thatcher?

Thanks for the quintuple post.

Texas presidents have damaged this nation, IMHO.

Sorry for the multiple posts. My tablet doesn’t always cooperate away from wifi.

As for the presidents, if you have something against Texas, I can’t help you.

Nothing against Texas, just the godawful (LBJ), the wimpy (GHB) and the clueless (GWB) presidents you have inflicted on us.

Yes, he is for the elimination of borders. I don’t care how prosperous Mexico is, that is not the conservative position.

Sure. I get that. My point is that we have a certain border with Canada, because Canadians don't come charging across the Great Lakes by the millions. Decades back, we used to have the same type of border with Mexico. I've lived in upstate New York 15 min from Canada, as well as my home in Southern California, and know the difference. There's nothing wrong with wanting the same relationship with our southern neighbor as we do with our northern one.

Aside from being basically a literary device for escaping bank robbers, the southern border wasn't always that big a deal. That Perry would basically agree with an impossibly rosy 'what it' posed by the Mexican president just isn't that big a red flag. What did George Bush, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan or anyone ever say to a Mexican president that sounded tough or amounted to anything?

I don't know, I have a hard time twisting lone sentences out of context and trying to pass that as 'proof', when the guy has actual actions that are questionable. The whole verbal 'gotcha' thing is really off putting to me, when you could instead point to his support of the DREAM act, for instance. There's no need to chop paragraphs to fit an agenda when the guy has physical evidence against him.

No I am not.

I do not know who you are, but if you won the Republican nomination for President, you would win.

You miss a point, the person first has to win the nomination. Do you think Ron Paul, Newt or Santorum will win the nomination?

She would make a great President, but it is a challenge that will prove to be insurmountable.

But a guy who will remind everyone of Bush will kick Obama's a$$? Break me off a piece of that kit kat bar. Perry makes for a bad candidate and even worse he'd probably be another RINO President.

I don't know if you've noticed this but Palin polls better with men than she does women. Are you saying that the US will not elect a woman POTUS because of women? I think if Americans can get past the race thing, they are more than ready for a woman president.

I think the next step would be for a woman to be VP and that would help open the door for a woman to be POTUS.

Just like we had a black VP to pave the way for a black POTUS?

Is 0bama all that black? How long until we have someone who is not half white as our first black POTUS?

Obama wasn’t billed as half white during the election. He was billed as black. A lot of people don’t even realize he is half white. Many people voted for him to get past the race issues in this country. It didn’t work out the way they hoped.

My point is if we as a country have evolved past the point where race is not an issue, then I hardly think sex is going to be an issue. Bachmann or Palin may not be elected, but I highly doubt it is because they are women.

I have to disagree. Sex is a huge issue and there are a lot of both men and women who will not vote for a woman and they are not afraid to say so.

0bama billed himself as a white person when convenient...after all his grandparents were “typical white people.”

Perry isn’t perfect, and God knows that I’ve had issues with him, but he has my vote. When it gets down to brass tacks, a Texan in the WH is always good for Texas. So, I’m supporting Perry even if it is out of the most selfish of motives.

So how is a former cowpoke from the middle of nowhere whose highest level of education is a BA in animal science from an ag school qualified to be the leader of the free world?
