Vicente Fox’s vision, which Rick Perry says he embraces, is the elimination of borders, in that Mexicans can live or work wherever they want in America or Canada.
Yes, he is for the elimination of borders. I don’t care how prosperous Mexico is, that is not the conservative position.

I hope you will listen to the warnings, people, and not jump on the Perry bandwagon without doing your homework (as I see some doing.)

The field is a lot more conservative now than 2008. Back then we didn't have a conservative that wanted to win enough. Now we have several to pick from. Hopefully they can make the long haul and we don't get stuck with a RINO like Romney.
I seem to recall all those infatuated with Obama’s smooth speaking skills and his hope/change mantra - shallow thinking. The platform counts with me. And forget the johnny come lately conservatives prostituting themselves for my vote. Too many inconsistencies on positions is a RINO red flag to me.
After months of fairly lifeless or non-credible candidates, people are excited to see someone else, someone fresh, someone high profile.
If Perry doesn't implode, I think Palin uses her influence just as she did in 2010. We can still end up with Romney and ultimately we can still lose to Obama no matter what candidate is put forward next fall.

Perry is being judged by his accent, as well. Of course, I don't think he has an accent! LOL!
This isn’t even 2012 yet. Others may/likely will enter. Others like Ryan or DeMint perhaps or another conservative. I’ll wait till about next March before giving any canidate my absolute support unless they have a very solid conservative record. Playing lets pander to illegals is not solid conservative. I’ll pass on Perry for now. He’s a step above Romney but thats about it. Beware of the political choices the media wants too give you.
The "big sin" he's associated with is a Texas dream law 10 years ago which passed with veto proof majorities. It was tightened in 2005, passed unanimously, and a repeal bill never even made it out of committee this term. Here's an FR thread explaining the Texas dream law.

He's a critic of E-Verify's lack of impact on Texas but it is used in thousands of Texas business although not required. However, Texas does require and use the I-9 "employment eligibility" forms which is where E-Verify is supposed to take its info. So in a real sense Texas already verifies eligibility, and under Perry it became harder on employers who violate the law and those who provide documents to defraud employers. Hutchison says Texas state doesn't use E-Verify to weed out undocumented workers applying for jobs (PolitiFact, 2010)
