The biggest mistake the Republicans made was nominating Dole - because he was due, and then McCain - because it was his turn. I would hope that this time around they have gotten the message that we need someone we can believe in. It just might be Perry but it sure as hell isn’t Romney - he’s waited long enough, or Gingrich - he did a good job 15 years ago, or anyone else who is an establishment Republican in Name Only. Whoever it is had BETTER be the real thing this time or our republic is doomed.
I agree with you about Dole, and McCain. The GOP has become increasingly clueless over the years for whatever reason. They have been “democrat-lite” and that’s not a good thing.
I’ve been trying to think how we can survive as a country, and unless Palin, or another REAL Conservative wins, along with a buttload of Tea Party candidates, I think things will go badly for our country.
We have become so addicted to things that other people (or China) pays for, that it will be almost impossible to return to sanity. Everyone is fine with cutting back on entitlements as long as they arent their entitlements, and that just won’t work any longer.
I hope I’m wrong...
