Perry is a professional politician who will say anything to get a vote.

http://www.politifact.com/texas/statements/2010/feb/12/rick-perry/perry-says-texas-has-surplus/

Perry says Texas has a surplus in billions Mostly False

Republican Gov. Rick Perry, running for re-election, claims the "tough conservative decisions" he’s made during his tenure have been a boon to the state, resulting in surplus revenue.

"Today, we have billions in surplus," he says in a TV ad that debuted Monday.

Is that right? Seems like just the other day — as in last month — Republican leaders including Perry asked state agencies to suggest possible budget cuts due to an anticipated revenue shortfall.

If Palin isn’t the nominee, chances are good I’ll vote 3rd party. I will only vote for a Conservative, which limits my options.

What if the 3rd Party nominee is not as conservative as the Republican nominee? It’s possible if it goes that far.

How about Perry is a former Dem...

So is Bachmann, and so was Reagan.

You skipped the primary - and that is an issue.

No, that’s why I said “if”.

I’m with you on that and there are many like us. I’ll only vote for the candidate who has a proven track record who I know will get in there and turn the tables upside down to restore this country and that is Palin. All the others are playing politics.

Not according to the polls I’ve seen. The only conservative interest group that I do think he’ll have a problem with, and with cause, are those for securing the border but then again I think none of the politicians will really do a damn thing to secure the borders without immense pressure. Even Palin has spoken in the “code” I’ve come to expect from polls who seek amnesty.

Palin’s not in and she won’t be. I like her fine, but it ain’t happening and her resignation 60% of the way through her term is stomach turning. Romney is, well, just the “generic Republican” in all respects and by definition.

Being a Texan, Perry ain’t Jesus at all. But, he is a steadfast 2nd Amendmenter, a low regulation guy, and he has one Hell of a record to run on with taxes. The same wind power initiatives are still in place from GWB (wretch.) The Trans Texas Corridor is a black smudge. Vaccinations for teens is just still weird and publically unexplained in full.

But, all in all, he is the guy. We cannot continue on with the current cadre in the the White House.

Perry is the nominee. Romney can’t boast of the same job creation. Palin is an effective sideline cheerleader of conservative causes but she can point to little in the resume department.

It’ll be Perry/Romney in the election and they’ll bag it.....

What if the 3rd party nominee has a proven record and the repub nominee doesn't - just a political talker? We can go on all night with what if's.

I’d vote for Palin in a heartbeat.

But she isn’t presently on the slate.

We’ve got to keep other viable options open. The objective is to defeat Obama.

You've proven yourself as clueless; thus, your post is null and void. TX is a big state and when cluelessness comes forth from it - it's big, also.

Right on.

And we can’t let anything distract us from that objective.

Illegal aliens can get in state tuition rate while an American from out of state pays the full boat.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0811/61076.html

When he first took office as governor in 2001, Perry went to Mexico and bragged about his law that granted “the children of undocumented workers” special in-state tuition at Texas colleges, the first state in the nation to do so.

“The message is simple,” Perry concluded, “educacion es el futuro, y si se puede.” Education is the future, and (echoing Cesar Chavez’s slogan) yes we can.]

Texas has the fourth lowest debt of all the states. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2762959/posts

"Texas has the second lowest debt per capita in America, as well as the third lowest interest payments on the debt of any state, despite it being a donor state, according to the Tax Foundation.

"Forbes gives Texas four stars for its debt situation, and ranks Texas fourth in the country for the best handling of debt.

"Texas also has the second lowest debt in the country, as a percentage of personal income, has reduced its non-self-supporting debt substantially over the past decade, and had its bond rating recently upgraded. "

Perry's on record for wanting to rid the US of unConstitutional and economy-destroying entitlements, ponzi schemes and, especially, over-reaching regulatory agencies. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2762809/posts
