What did you do to outsmart the raccoons? My corn has baby kernels on it then the raccoons got in it. I still have some left but if I don't do something they will get the rest.
I asked a couple weeks ago about pumpkins, I just wasn't patient enough apparently. Who knew they would take over dang near the entire yard. If I have to wait till first frost to pick them they will be massive.
And just for fun, the sunflowers are blooming. I love this time of year.

They are the most destructive little beasts when it comes to sweet corn. Two years ago they destroyed 2/3rds of my corn. There was mass destruction up and down every row as they were not consuming the corn. Your pumpkins look awesome. I have cantaloupe, 'moon&stars' watermelons, cucumbers, and the dying remains of zucchinis the squash bugs have destroyed. Squash bugs remind me of the destructive nature of raccoons.

I invite my FRiends over to pee around my corn patch and I also have a impulse sprinkler with a motion detector that startles them. It only runs about 3 seconds and then resets. Got it at the local Ace store but everyone sells them.
BTW... Great photos...
