Issued almost 40 years ago, when they weren’t using computers to generate SS numbers. So the “typo” theory wouldn’t come into play then.

By the late 1970's, mainframe computers were already commonly used to manage large databases. So yes, the theory does come into play.

I don't understand the typo theory even more. HI’s # that were issued 575-576 040-049 were CT.

Would it not involve *mistakenly* typing more then just the zero? Two #’s would have been typed wrong. Statistics probably would say, not much probability of that
