Do the SEALs go through more extremely intense training and encounter more dangerous situations then the norm?
More dangerous, perhaps. But more so than a Marine Recon unit, or the guys doing deck duty on a Carrier, or the aviators flying CAS, etc....?
Seems to me anyone who gets bullets whizzing by his head, or missiles trying to work their way up your tailpipe, or the lowly grunt walking point on an IED laden road, are ALL deserving of the honor.
And if we use those criteria, then the WH flag would be at perpetual half mast.
