I forgot to tell you, yes, he was the best puppy sitter. They would hang off his beard. That is a golden puppy. Poor Rigel (the spinone). I got him from the UK, but he turned out to have hip dysplasia, so I never bred him. However, he was just the most awesome buddy you could imagine. And even tho he would grumble at the puppies he wouldn’t hurt a fly and they knew it. When he’d had enough of them he would get up and go somewhere else.
And of course all the girl dogs (he was the only boy on the place) always gave him a hard time. He was such a sweet and gentle spirit. His only goal in life was to be as close to me as he could physically be. Like a piece of velcro. At the time the breed was not AKC recognized and by the time they were he had gotten pretty old and was gimpy. He only got his ARBA CH which is not a very big deal. But I loved that boy.
