I'll give you that as a possibility, but I find it (lotto odds) unlikely. We get plenty of police beatings on video, and I've cheered when it was necessary to subdue some subhuman, but have you ever seen one where a fellow officer steps in and stops some out of control officer for obvious reasons? Many that I've seen or heard of, the others just watch or join in. The damage to that guys face took awhile, and the overall beating was so severe that he lapsed into a coma, from which his body couldn't even recover. If he would've lived, it would have been the worst case of brutality I'd ever seen. He was a mentally handicapped homeless guy suffering from his afflictions.
This new "I'm going home safe after my shift no matter what" attitude, is going to ultimately result in many more innocent interactions with law enforcement, resulting in death and mayhem. It's getting to be like "Let's just treat everyone we come in contact with like they are trying to kill us, it's the only way to be sure we go home safe".
