Six months after the power goes out, the bands that are still operating will be pretty effective. The stupid ones will all be dead. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how to infiltrate a property, do recon from the woodline, and pull a sniper ambush once the key property defenders are identified and caught in the open.

But also same with defensible neighborhoods. We, too, will have learned how to defend our territory and it will no doubt involved hunting parties going out and killing anything that doesn’t belong.

This particular scenario I have given a great deal of thought to over the past few years. My property is on a ridge with a 355' driveway to a valley and rural road. I have walked my land often and identified the blind zones and early warning points. The author of the letter states 50 to 75 yards. That seems a bit reckless to me. I have purchased one of the following devices and am investigating one that is less lethal. I am curious about your experience and opinion.
For something less lethal I have been looking at a few of the
Brite Strike PIISA - Perimeter Infrared Intruder Security Alert System
For lethality it is pretty obvious that the
Shotgun Signal Alarm Tripwire Booby Trap will be effective.
I prefer to make reconnaissance of my home an uncomfortable venture. I like both set of devices because they are cheap and I believe effective. I also have other battery operated remote wireless alarms that layer into these devices.
What are you thoughts and suggestions? Thanks.

"Six months after the power goes out, ..." Hmmmm! Guess the aprox 1700-1800 light bulbs I've stashed over the past 3-years away won't be of any value for barter...(:-)
