There are a lot more of these devious mind screwing mantras that have made the culture of that area toxic. Trying to actually confront the underlying assumptions is an exercise in futility. When we moved to the deep south I was surprised to find how much the same toxic Menes were deeply embedded in the world view of many so called educated people especially females. This sort of victim government dependent mentality makes planning for anything that requires potential physical courage and emotional toughness very hard. It has been really revealing to me how much the statist liberal world view has damaged individuals and it has been done in such a devious fashion that few realize what has been done to them.
