Yes, the Casey Anthony hearing to revisit her probation order is being televised today at 9:00 a.m. EST. In my area we will be getting it on HLN.
Let's see if she maintains her teflon status.
Geez, here they go into the double jeopardy phooey stuff.
I work for my husband’s law firm, the forms only cover so much and documents like that have to be agreed to by both parties and they go back and forth with minute changes and, honestly, after awhile, you get so familiar with the ‘boilerplate’ that you tend to skim the documents looking for distinctions.
Proofreading legal documents is tiresome.
That said, it should have been caught. And the DOC should have verified with the judge (which is common) any probation while in jail (which is practically unheard of).
I hear you. Try having one case with over a million documents. Now that’s fun.
I see the lawyer up said “if properly awarded”. If it was just a clerical error; it was not properly awarded I would think.
Nope, these things go out with errors all the time. No one ever double-checks them.

Not exactly true. Errors occur, but mostly in documents that have to be agreed upon. One of the best tricks is to sneak language in (or delete it) in your favor hoping the other side doesn’t catch it.
Most documents are proofread by AT LEAST 2 people and in our firm at least 4 times.
It could be a clerical error, but even so, it might be enough to keep her free as a bird. People guilty of far worse crimes have been cut loose because of “clerical” or “technical” errors. But never mind—she’ll be in the news again. I don’t think she’s capable of staying out of trouble, and she’s emboldened further by the fact that she knows she just got away with murder.
You are not kidding. As I am sitting here watching this I have about 90 minutes to finish up a trial brief I've been working on for two weeks. I'm putting it together while reconstructing the language from 3 old stipulations, a settlement agreement, a judge's ruling, an order after hearing, and about 9 minute orders. Many of these documents were handwritten, some even in pencil (!!), and have scratch-outs, notes in the margins, etc. My eyes hurt SO BAD from cross checking these things and I am going blind doing it.
I can't WAIT to get this puppy off my desk!
I can understand that.
I see. So simply stating an opinion is verboten now? Who knew?
Maybe you need to cut back on the coffee or take a chill pill.
The emails were always interesting. You find some really enlightening stuff in those.
This should be good.
they still going to keep her out of state?
Well, you sure as heck didn’t want us following a story we find interesting—how is that different?
And I am so glad I am retired. ROTFLOL pencil. Sometimes I really think opposing does that to mess with you.
You have a SUPER firm and that is certainly the way it should be done. Are you in family law? True, our firm is small and the only one who ever proofs - if he wants to - is the attorney, but I don't know of any other firm we interract with that is very good about proofreading, based on the junk we see all the time. Gosh, it's awful.
I try to be very careful with my cases and jump on all documents when I get them. I know I drive my attorney nuts asking him questions trying to verify his interpretation of orders, his notes, etc.
I know he gets annoyed, but better that than a malpractice suit.
LOL Great.
I am loving this so far.
LOL. Yes, you do.
I am just sick that her twisted self got off after murdering her own daughter.
That lawyer is trying to sweep this well under the rug.
