Wrong assumption. Modern Egyptians are immigrants to the region, who displaced and/or outnumbered the ancient Egyptians. The same thing is the case in Greece - and for the matter the United States.

It's not inevitable, yet, but the same thing could happen in Europe and perhaps North America again within the next five generations.
