Says he was maligned by video organizer
Where was Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown when the rest of the state's delegation appeared in an anti-bullying video? On Thursday, his camp released a definitive answer.
Brown's camp released a statement saying that while the senator supports the message of the "It Gets Better video campaign aimed at gay, lesbian and transgendered teens, Brown refuses to associate with the founder of that campaign, controversial radio host Dan Savage.
The release cited specific, obscene comments Savage made regarding a Scott Brown action figure last year. The statement also accused Brown's opponents of trying to score cheap political points.

"Senator Brown believes all people regardless of sexual orientation should be treated with dignity and respect. He has been a leader in fighting for anti-bullying legislation at the state and federal level. His main focus is creating jobs and getting the economy moving again. In this case, the individual behind the video has made vile and sexually crude comments about Senator Brown. It's reprehensible for Senator Brown's opponents to associate with this person in order to score cheap political points." -- Eric Fehrnstrom, political adviser.
More on Savage: “...he volunteered for the Bauer campaign with the intent to infect the candidate with his flu. He wrote that he licked doorknobs and other objects in the campaign office, and handed Bauer a saliva-coated pen, hoping to pass the virus on to Bauer and his supporters (though he later said that much of the article had been fictitious). He also registered and participated in the caucus, which was illegal, as Savage was not an Iowa resident. He was charged and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of fraudulent voting in a caucus, and was sentenced to a year’s probation, 50 hours of community service, and a $750 fine”

Insanity must accompany the last name ‘Savage’ whatever one’s politics.
Sen. Brown is absolutely right to avoid this guy. He's vile and despicable.
Dan Savage (is Savage his given name?; very apropriate) was the GRAND MARSHAL of this year’s NYC Gay Pride Parade, June 26. All the usual politicians, especially this year with the same sex marriage vote just two days earlier, were in attendance.
If you said, Mayor Bloomberg, how can you march in a parade whose Grand Marshal is a degenerate like Dan Savage, he would not have an idea what you are talking about.
